Flagstaff Shelter Services (FSS) recently received a grant from the Arizona Housing Fund to continue its work renovating a former hotel into housing.
The $200,000 grant will be used to finish work on The Lantern’s building and cover the rising costs of construction. The renovation is now expected to be completed in October of this year.
The Lantern will begin as an emergency shelter for adults experiencing a housing crisis and will eventually become permanent supportive housing, according to the Housing Fund’s grant announcement.
