Western Wiffle Ball Classic Hits Scottsdale Saturday, Oct. 25 with Coast-to-Coast Teams, Big-Name Talent

Scottsdale Stadium will host one of the most anticipated amateur sporting events in the country when the Western Wiffle Ball Classic returns this fall.

Originally set for Saturday, Oct. 18, the event will now take place from 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25 at 7408 E Osborn Road, Scottsdale, to accommodate growing national interest and expanded team participation. The stadium will welcome teams from more than

20 states, including Arizona, California, New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts, among multiple others, as they battle for bragging rights and a trophy on the same field the San Francisco Giants call home each spring.

In addition to featuring teams from across the nation, this year’s Western Wiffle Ball Classic will also welcome several particularly high-profile players, including Las Vegas, Nevada’s Jordan Bohnet and New York’s Jordan Robles. Bohnet earned top honors last year as Big League Wiffleball’s 2024 Series

MVP and Cy Young Award winner, throwing a shutout at last year’s chamionship game at AT&T Stadium in Texas, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.

Known for pitching at speeds as high as 100 mph, Bohnet also hit two home runs at last year’s Big League Wiffleball Final Four, leading his team to a 3–0 victory and the World Series title. His team also finished on top at last year’s Western Wiffle Ball Classic in Scottsdale.

Robles, a former national champion and one of the league’s most decorated and recognizable players, played an instrumental part in moving the Big League Wiffle Ball tournament forward and will return to the Western Wiffle Ball Classic for the fourth consecutive year. The recipient

of the Big League Wiffle Ball 2024 “Silver Slugger” award, Robles and his team, The Naturals, fell to Bohnet’s squad during last year’s semifinals in Texas.

“We’re excited to welcome some of the biggest names in the game to this year’s Western Wiffle Ball Classic in Scottsdale,” said Logan Rose, who founded Big League Wiffle Ball in 2020 as a teenager during the pandemic. “Attracting talent like Bohnet and Robles shows just how far this event has come and helps cement the Classic as one of the top wiffle ball events in the country.”

Teams playing in the Western Wiffle Ball Classic have between three and five players and register to compete in either Recreational or Competitive divisions, with strike zone dimensions, pitching distances and eligible equipment among the key differences between them. The top team in each division then walks away with a permanent place in Western Wiffle Ball Classic history.

In addition to the tournament itself, this year’s Western Wiffle Ball Classic will also include a Home Run Derby, giving players a chance to showcase their power at the plate as they compete for a separate trophy.

Teams interested in taking the field during Big League Wiffle Ball’s Western Wiffle Ball Classic can register to play at BLWiffleBall.com. For more information, check out BLWiffleBall.com or follow developments on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube.
