Amazon decides against building new distribution center in Prescott Valley

By Daily Courier

A proposed, second Amazon distribution center that was preparing to set up shop in Prescott Valley is now officially a no-go, despite having acquired approval by the Town Council.

In a hushed tone, word of the decision this week left many wondering if it was because the project was opposed and being pushed to a public vote.

Instead, Amazon is taking the high road, and will be expanding its current location on Valley Road.

“We’re always evaluating our network to make sure it best fits our business needs and that of our customers. While we originally intended to open a new delivery station in Prescott Valley, after careful consideration and several reviews, we’ve seen that we’re best able to serve customers by expanding operations at our existing local facility,” said Amber Plunkett, spokesperson for Amazon.
