Gilbert was just named one of the best real estate markets in the country, according to a new analysis by WalletHub.
“I’ve always thought Gilbert’s the hot place to be,” said Melissa Bailey, a real estate agent in the East Valley. “I think Gilbert is a family-friendly Scottsdale, so if we took a mirror image, you’ve got downtown Scottsdale, Old Town area, everybody loves that, restaurants, shops, shopping, and Gilbert has the same exact thing. And Gilbert has A-rated schools if you have a family.”
WalletHub compared 300 cities using 17 metrics like housing affordability, job growth, building permit activity, median days on the market, and maintenance affordability. “Gilbert, Arizona, cracked the top ten at number seven,” said WalletHub’s Chip Lupo. “One other thing that Gilbert has in its favor, Gilbert has a very high median credit score of 747. If you have a high credit score when you’re going into the home buying process, there’s a pretty good chance you’re going to get favorable interest rates.”
