Transportation officials are kicking off a widening project for a busy connection between the Loop 101 Pima Freeway and State Route 51 in north Phoenix on Thursday.
To officially start the project, the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) said the ramp from the eastbound Loop 101 to SR 51 will be closed from 10 p.m. on Thursday to 5 a.m. on Friday.
This closure will allow crews to create the work zone for the project.
ADOT said drivers can get around the closure by getting off Loop 101 at either Cave Creek Road or Tatum Boulevard and then going south to Union Hills Drive, which can be used to access SR 51.
