Another copper mine project is in the works just outside the Phoenix metro as demand for the mineral used in data centers, electric vehicles and more continues to grow.
Arizona Sonoran Copper Company acquired 2,047 acres in Casa Grande for $102.15 million on Aug. 29 for its Cactus Mine project. The deal builds up its acreage for the project, which is now at 7,843 acres total, as it seeks to restore a formerly operational mine.
