Queen Creek appoints first in-house legal counsel; Jordan Rose, founder and president of Rose Law Group, comments

The Town of Queen Creek now has a full-time in-house attorney and it’s wasting no time keeping him busy.

The Town Council on Sept. 3 named Cliff Mattice as the first in-house attorney, luring him from Florence, where he had been the town prosecutor and town attorney for a little more than 10 years.

“Mattice is slated to start in October and will be instrumental in providing legal guidance to the Town Council, departments directors, commissions and boards,” the town said in a release.

It noted that since Queen Creek incorporated in 1989, it had been contracting legal services but Council decided earlier this year to create an in-house position.
