Maricopa County voters say yes to most school districts’ bonds and overrides after initial returns

Voters across much of Maricopa County were approving funding measures on Tuesday to pay for teachers and construction projects.

Most of the requests within 21 school districts were leading after the first batch of ballots were counted in the mail-only election.

Among the biggest winners were the Phoenix Elementary and Phoenix Union High districts, but voters in Tolleson and Buckeye were rejecting requests.
