CASA GRANDE — City Planning and Development Director Dan Coxworth said he welcomes public input regarding the planning process, particularly at a stage where significant change is occurring in Casa Grande not only from construction but also due to state law.
A new law in January mandates that city administrative personnel review and approve site plans, development plans, land divisions, lot line adjustments, lot ties, preliminary plats, final plats and plat amendments, with the need for a public hearing removed. While Coxworth said that would not be a problem, on the development front he described the future for Casa Grande as extremely positive.
“I think this is an exciting time for Casa Grande, and I encourage people to participate but to listen as well,” Coxworth said in an interview. He was appointed in April as the city’s chief planner, replacing Paul Tice who had been with the city for some 15 years before retirement. Coxworth previously worked for Cochise County as development services director.
