Kyrsten Sinema sued as ‘homewrecker’; Rose Law Group family law attorney Kelsey Fischer comments

Marriage security breach? “A lawsuit claims former U.S. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema destroyed a 14-year marriage by becoming romantically involved with a man who was part of her security detail while she was still in office.”

Are you having an affair with my husband?’ “Heather Ammel claims Matthew Joseph Ammel accompanied Sinema on luxe trips to Napa Valley, Saudi Arabia and sipped Dom Perignon with Sinema and Cindy McCain at an event in Las Vegas.”

A happy couple: “‘Prior to (Sinema’s) intentional and malicious interference, (Heather Ammel) and Mr. Ammel had a good and loving marriage, and genuine love and affection existed between them,’ the lawsuit said.”

Pay for play: The lawsuit in North Carolina “seeks more than $25,000 and is filed under that state’s ‘homewrecker law.’ It came to light on Jan. 14, when the matter was transferred to federal court in that state,” AZCentral reports.

Rose Law Group family law attorney Kelsey Fischer says in a comment to RLGR: “What stands out is not the politics or the personalities, but the use of North Carolina’s alienation of affection law to address alleged third-party interference in a marriage. These claims don’t require a perfect marriage — only proof that genuine love and affection existed before the alleged intrusion.”

Could it happen here? “Arizona, like many other states, has abolished alienation of affection under A.R.S. § 25-341 due to the law encouraging vindictive litigation, treatment of spouses as having property like interests with each other, and clashing with ‘no-fault divorces,’” Fischer says.
