CASA GRANDE — The city Planning and Zoning Commission denied a request from Phoenix-based applicant Darryl Wilson of Colliers Engineering for a zone change on 273 acres between Florence Boulevard, Cottonwood Lane, Palm Creek Resort and Interstate 10 on March 5.

Commissioners in opposition said their decisions were based on traffic impacts and the need for further public input. The vote was 4-3 against the proposal.
