Hotel planned in downtown Mesa

A five-story AC Hotel is to be constructed on the northeast corner of Centennial Way and Main Street.

The Mesa Board of Adjustment voted unanimously April 1 to approve a consent agenda with other items including a variance from the form based code standards to allow for a hotel development on 0.9 acres at 104 E. Main St.

The general plan for the area is downtown placetype with an evolve growth strategy. Entertainment and recreation uses are considered the principal land use, and a hotel is a supported land use, Staff Planner Kellie Rorex said during a study session prior to the meeting.
