The Heritage District is set to see several new developments and improvements over the next few years, revamping downtown Gilbert’s landscape.
While many of these planned developments are private projects, the town also plans a slew of improvements to achieve a broader goal of an “18-hour downtown” where residents can “live, work and play” without leaving the district.
Many of the changes in downtown Gilbert’s landscape are guided by the decade-long Heritage District redevelopment plan, the latest iteration of which was adopted by the Town Council in 2018.
That plan covers the town’s future vision for the Heritage District, along with downtown characteristics, a master plan for redevelopment and implementation and funding strategies to bring this vision to fruition.
