Council candidates answer questions on Gilbert issues

Gilbert Town Council has four seats open in elections this year with three incumbents running for reelection.

The incumbents are Vice Mayor Chuck Bongiovanni and council members Bobbi Buchli and Jim Torgeson. Yung Koprowski chose not to run for reelection.

The four challengers include one former council member in Bill Spence in addition to Joel Coen, Beth Goulden and Bus Obayomi.

Candidates can be elected from the July primary if they receive what is deemed a majority based on the number of seats and candidates. Top vote getters not elected in the primary will advance to a runoff in the November general election.

Independent Newsmedia sent a questionnaire to the seven candidates and all responded. Here is what they wrote.
