FLORENCE — Land previously planned for moderate-low-density housing just north of town was rezoned for industry by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.
Sunset Companies is planning to build and service septic tanks and provide home construction support on about 18 acres east of Hunt Highway, south of Heritage Road and west of the Copper Basin/Union Pacific Railroad corridor. Primary access will be from Attaway Road, according to county staff.
The board approved a request for rezoning from Single Residence to I-3 Industrial; a minor Comprehensive Plan amendment from Residential to Employment; and a Planned Area Development overlay on June 3.
