Lawmakers joined veterans to celebrate what they are calling the largest expansion of property tax relief in Arizona history.
House Bill 2792 will provide scaling property tax relief for disabled veterans with any level of disability starting in tax year 2027. Two Republicans, Rep. Michael Carbone and Sen. David Gowan, worked on the legislation in their respective chambers and pushed it through to Gov. Katie Hobbs’ desk in February, when it was signed.
Five months later, they’re officially popping the champagne.
“Today is about keeping a promise to Arizona veterans and their military families. While recognizing sacrifice, honoring service, and ensuring that the men and women who defended our country and our freedoms have this opportunity to achieve and maintain the American dream, which is homeownership,” Carbone said.
