Chandler has been sued over its regulations regarding business development on the South Price Road Employment Corridor.
City officials are awaiting results of a consultant’s review of those guidelines.
The lawsuit, which claims that Chandler incorrectly restricted the building owned by Piedmont Operating Partnership, 1975 S. Price Road, to two tenants, was filed in Maricopa County Superior Court in May.
In February, Chandler hired the Maguire Company to review the city’s policy on development of the employment corridor, which limits the area to large users.
Piedmont’s lawsuit claims that Chandler’s zoning administrator erroneously interpreted the city’s zoning laws in a way that was “unduly influenced” by the city’s General Plan, which generally reserves the employment corridor for single-employment users on parcels of 15 acres or more, according to court documents.
