The Marana Unified School District says it expects to save $4 million in energy costs over the next 20 years through the installation of solar panels at eight of its school campuses. And the best part about these new installations — they won’t cost the district a cent.
The district, through contractual partner Kennedy Partners, which is funding the entire construction, installation and implementation of the solar structures, has completed work at three schools and expects the other five to be done by the end of September, when the entire system will be operational.
