The San Tan Valley area is sometimes perceived a bit like the a town in the wild west. Running without a formal town government, without a mayor, city council, or town hall, residents here haven’t had a formal, cohesive voice on issues and separate view points often caused deep rifts.
That is where the San Tan Valley Think Tank comes in. Originally an idea by resident Jack Malpass, the Think Tank is a association of business owners, educators, non profits, community leaders and volunteers who agree that San Tan Valley needs a unified voice in order to take action and be heard on local, state and even national issues. The Think Tank was created in 2009
Malpass, the founder and president of the Think Tank, is also a respected businessman and business coach in Pinal County. “The Think Tank is really a way to bring community leaders together so that we, San Tan Valley, can make headway on local issues, but also a way to address problems that residents face everyday in a positive way.”
