Pinal County officials have agreed to a nearly $2 million energy-saving project with Ameresco Southwest.
Ameresco claims to be one of the largest independent energy services companies in the country and has worked with Pinal County on several projects since 1999.
Leonard Byrd, senior business development manager at Ameresco, said all the projects his company has done for Pinal County have saved the county money and have exceeded cost- saving goals.
The new project includes retrofitting lighting at many county buildings, including Administration Buildings 1 and 2, the Sheriff’s Office administration building, the Superior Courthouse, the Adult Detention Center, the Youth Justice Center and Public Works buildings.
