The U.S. House of Representatives approved a measure late Wednesday to lift the debt ceiling and reopen the federal government. Arizona’s 9-member delegation split along party lines on the vote. The state’s four Republican congressmen — Trent Franks, Paul Gosar, David Schweikert and Matt Salmon — voted against the measure.
Democrats Kyrsten Sinema, Ron Barber, Raul Grijalva, Ann Kirkpatrick and Ed Pastor voted for the the debt and shutdown measure, which passed by a 285 to 144 margin in the GOP-controlled House.
