Douglas Sydnor announced that his firm, Douglas Sydnor Architect and Associates, Inc. (DSAA) in Scottsdale, will be closing their doors November 10. Just after celebrating DSAA’s 20th Anniversary, Doug has accepted an offer to join the architectural firm of Gensler in Phoenix. In an email he sent out he says, “This positive change will be an opportunity to join their senior management team and to collaborate with many talented people in the Phoenix office and within the Southwest region. In addition I will focus my energies on design excellence and management of community facilities; and be an active mentor to the firm youth. Professional and civic involvement will continue to be a high priority as it has been for over 30 years.” Doug goes on to write that, “In a creative career as an architect you need to shake it up periodically to keep it fresh and be challenged; and this new path will definitely bring such possibilities.”
