In a letter to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, Arizona Representative Paul Gosar joined fellow Congressional Western Caucus members in their opposition to the EPA’s latest attempt to drastically expand water regulations under the Clean Water Act (CWA) through a proposed new rule. Caucus members called on the EPA to stop circumventing Congress in an effort to implement job-crushing policies that would essentially take over non-federal water in the United States.
The new rule will be based off of a recent report from the EPA that advocates for a massive Washington takeover of non-federal water. The Caucus members point out that Congress has rejected this policy in the past due to the devastating effects it has on farmers, ranchers, small businesses and individual landowners to use their property.
