Home prices on the rise in the West Valley

Surprise home prices are rising as move-up buyers vie for roomier, newer homes, the kind built in droves during West Valley cities’ decadelong housing boom.

As recession-battered home prices continue to stabilize, the overall number of home sales has fallen because fewer houses are on the market.

The competition for Surprise homes has slowed since the frantic days of 2012 when some Valley homes received dozens of written offers. But it’s still not uncommon for a reasonably priced home to attract more than one offer, experts say.
