It’s in concrete: USPS restores service to Paradise Valley residents

The United States Postal Service has opted to reinstate service to 10 Paradise Valley residents who had home-delivery suspended due to the addition of colored concrete along about a one-mile stretch of Tatum Boulevard.

USPS officials said, up until Dec. 19, the new colored concrete on established sidewalks created a safety issue that would prevent individual delivery of mail to the homes along the road.

Paradise Valley officials, however, said nothing has really changed — except for the new surface replacing the already existing sidewalks.

Town officials say the topography hasn’t changed since the $298,491 beautification project was completed, which covered the existing sidewalk for about one mile along Tatum Boulevard from Lincoln Drive to Desert Jewel.
