This year, Fountain Hills is going to get a lot closer to being, as Town Councilman Cecil Yates would say, that “shiny city on the hill.”
That’s because numerous large-scale projects will be completed this year, including improvements to the park that surrounds the town’s namesake fountain, its main attraction for visitors, as well as reconstruction of Saguaro Boulevard, the town’s busiest street.
“We have a lot of work, it’s all kind of converging pretty quickly,” said Paul Mood, the town’s development services director.
Mayor Linda Kavanagh said some of the projects for the town, east of Scottsdale, are “long overdue.”
