Homeowners sometimes go to great lengths to get good information about homeowners associations.
In fact, two Surprise residents drove 1 hour and 40 minutes through rush-hour traffic to attend Chandler’s Mini HOA Summit on Feb. 18 at Tumbleweed Recreation Center. Though much of the information, in particular presentations by Chandler Mayor Jay Tibshraeny, City Councilman Rick Heumann and Police Chief Sean Duggan, was specific to Chandler, the visitors from Surprise thought the 90-minute seminar was worth the drive.
Ruby Sitea, a Neighborhood Services coordinator for Surprise, said her city also offered HOA training, but it was not as extensive as that offered in Chandler.
