Longtime Phoenix television personality Tara Hitchcock has joined Jason Rose’s public relations firm in Scottsdale.
Hitchcock is joining Rose+Moser+Allyn Public Relations as a communications adviser. The firm announced her hire today.
She was a host of KTVK-TV’s “Good Morning Arizona” show for 15 years. She left the Belo Corp.-owned Channel 3 in 2011.
“I’m so excited for the opportunity to take my years in Phoenix television and help those I’m used to interviewing. After years of seeing every possible press release and media kit out there and interviewing everyone from the woman starting her new venture to the celebrity trying to make a comeback, advice I always thought could help then, I can now offer. I’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly, and I know what works,” Hitchcock said in a statement.
Rose+Moser’s clients have included Phoenix International Raceway, Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction, Tempe restaurateur and mayoral candidate Michael Monti, Ellman Cos., Glendale Mayor Elaine Scruggs, Fox Restaurants Concepts and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
The firm does everything from special events and promoting restaurant opening to political work and damage control.
KTVK has seen turnover from some well-known newscasters in recent years. Beverly Kidd, Brad Cesmat and Ross Shimabuku have also departed the Phoenix station.
Shimabuku is a sports anchor at KSWB-TV Fox 5 in San Diego where he made headlines and got in trouble in February for joking that Nascar driver Danica Patrick was the “b-word.” Cesmat has a sports talk radio show now on KGME-AM Xtra 910 Sports.
