Starving horses seized in Buckeye

KTAR

Seven malnourished horses have been seized from a property in Buckeye after the owner had already received a warning, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said.

One horse was seized from the property owner in July, who was informed how to properly care for the other animals.

During a follow up, MCSO found the seven horses were in worse condition than when deputies first saw them in July. The horses were estimated to be between 150 and 300 lbs. underweight and a veterinarian said all would require medical care.

MCSO is searching for the horses’ owner, who now faces numerous animal cruelty charges.
