Officials hope new business will reduce city subsidy to Chandler airport

Chandler-Airport-EntranceEconomic downturns have left the Chandler Airport with an estimated at $852,000 shortfall in 2014-15. The city once again is looking for businesses to move to its with the hope they will help the facility become self-sufficient.

Chandler will accept proposals through Tuesday, April 8, and the call for proposals is limited to an unused parking lot, where developers have expressed interest, said Lori Quan, an economic-development specialist based at the airport.

The city put out a similar call for developers one year ago and received one response.
