Scottsdale residents go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 6 to elect three to serve four-year terms on Scottsdale City Council.
Six front runners emerged from a pool of 11 at the August primary election where Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane won his second straight term outright against challengers Drew Bernhardt and John Washington.
For a candidate to win outright in the primary he or she would have needed a majority of all votes cast, according to the Scottsdale City Clerk’s Office.
Residents must be registered by Tuesday, Oct. 9 to vote in the November general election.
City officials say early ballots — which all candidates interviewed agree will be the deciding factor — will be mailed Thursday, Oct. 11.
The six candidates seeking three seats on Scottsdale City Council are Suzanne Klapp, Virginia Korte, Eric Luoma, Guy Phillips, Joanne “Copper” Phillips and Chris Schaffner.
Each candidate was contacted to learn that they thought separated them from the pack, were they stood on proposed land-use changes in north Scottsdale and what they want to change on Scottsdale City Council if elected.
