The Arizona State University campus in Lake Havasu City received 475 applications for the coming school year, mostly from outside the area, said David Young, ASU director at the Colleges of Lake Havasu City at a breakfast presentation Monday morning. Several dozen attendees attended the presentation that featured Arizona State President Michael Crow.
If all of those applicants enrolled at the local facility, it would represent nearly a three-fold increase over current enrollment, further proof of the success of the local campus.
The growing ASU Lake Havasu City campus, innovative thinking, changes to the school system, and creating human capital in the Havasu and Arizona were topics Crow discussed at the presentation at Shugrue’s restaurant.
Community members along with city officials and members of the education community listened to some of the ways Crow believes innovative changes in the university system and the city can help make them successful.
