Over the last year, the number of Arizona homes going through foreclosure has dropped 41.92 percent, meaning only one in every 1779 homes is in some state of foreclosure.
Arizona is one of two spots that are starting to see their foreclosure numbers drop down to about 1 percent of all houses, a number considered normal around the country.
“The two markets I see that are back to close to that normal level are Arizona and Michigan,” said Darren Blomquist, vice president of RealtyTrac. “Everywhere else, the numbers are coming down for the most part in most areas, but not as far along as the Arizona, Michigan markets are.”
Arizona saw a 1.88 percent increase in foreclosure filings from February to March. That number has dropped 47.87 percent since this time last year.
The Tucson area has 248 homes in some form of foreclosure in March, according to new numbers from real estate research company RealtyTrac.
That number is only one foreclosure more than the area saw in February.
