There are scattered resorts throughout the Valley that were lost in shadow of sprawling outlying golf resorts and spas.
Some, like Mountain Shadows, are razed and rebuilt from the ground up. Others, like the Cottonwoods Resort & Suites, are reinvented. Times and living patterns in the Valley have changed since these venerable destinations were gracing post cards. The best-planned hopes of owners are running straight into a wall of neighbor concerns about changes in traffic, noise and impact.
