First phase of Hunt Highway more than half finished

Construction crews have been keeping a feverish pace in trying to complete Phase 1 of the Hunt Highway Expansion Project.

Their work is paying off. According to Pinal County Project Manager Celeste Pemberton, the first phase of the Hunt Highway Expansion Project (Empire Road to Thompson Road) is over halfway finished.

“As of April 22, we are 55 percent complete with this project,” Pemberton said. “We have the entire north side of the roadway paved and crews are working on the southern side.”

Pemberton said crews should have Phase 1 done on time.
