Electric vehicle chargers will remain in Phoenix area

CarCharging Group emerged as the winner of an auction for the rights to Ecotality’s assets following the defunct company’s bankruptcy filing.

Electric vehicle drivers, don’t blink just yet.

Officials of Valley communities are saying that more than 400 Blink Network electric vehicle chargers across the Valley are here to stay even though revenue has not been high and the company that managed the network, ECOtality Inc., filed for bankruptcy in September.

In October, ECOtality’s network and assets were sold to Miami-based CarCharging Group.

“Our concern right now is repairing relationships with our hosts, and there was concern about municipalities getting their revenue checks from the EV Project,” said Jim Stanley, vice president and general manager of CarCharging Group. “We’re very customer focused, and in an early-stage market, I can appreciate the anxiety the EV (electric vehicle) community experienced as a result of the bankruptcy.”
