As Election Day approaches, candidates for county supervisor in Pinal County’s District 2 say voters are telling them the San Tan Valley area needs more roads and jobs.
Cheryl Chase was the favorite in a five-way contest, easily winning the Republican primary. Margo Feldmiller ran a successful write-in campaign in the primary for the Democratic nomination, winning four times the needed votes.
Chase credits her primary success to great supporters.
“I would not be where I am at without the great friends, volunteers and campaign workers that have been dedicated to my campaign. I have always believed that you are only as good as the people you surround yourself with, and I couldn’t be blessed with better supporters.
“The other major factor was my previous experience in representing Pinal County at the Legislature. In talking with voters and other community leaders, I feel like I understand the issues that are affecting San Tan Valley and Florence.”
Feldmiller was similarly grateful.
“The staff in the Democrat office in Florence was instrumental in getting the word out to the voters quickly and in a timely manner. They run a top-notch professional office and have a very knowledgeable staff that anyone can rely on.”
Chase, 59, stepped down as director of community relations for the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office to focus on her campaign. She previously served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007, and has been a Pinal County resident for almost 40 years.
