Group pulls initiative to retain Glendale’s sunset clause of tax increase

After Glendale City Council discussed the possibility of erasing the sunset clause of the temporary 0.7 percent sales tax that was set to expire in July 2017, the Protect Glendale Taxpayers in Support of the Ballot Measure have pulled an initiative to send the decision to voters in November.

“We are a group that has been formed to look at seeing what we can do to make sure we hold the city accountable related to the sales tax increase,” said Scot Mussi, spokesman for Protect Glendale Taxpayers in Support of the Ballot Measure. “They promised it would be a temporary tax, and it hasn’t even been two years and they are looking to make it permanent.”
