A new study of the 150 largest U.S. cities ranked Tempe, Glendale and Tucson among the 10 least recession-recovered.
In Wallet Hub’s analysis of cities that have recovered the most from the 2008 Great Recession, Tempe ranked 142, Glendale 143 and Tucson 144.
Among the bottom 20 were Mesa at 135 and Phoenix at 138.
No large Arizona municipality made the top half of the list. Chandler scored the highest with 91, while Gilbert was ranked 92 and Scottsdale 96.
Wallet Hub used 18 metrics to rank the cities, including the number of new businesses, unemployment rates, home prices, incomes, the inflow of college-educated workers, bankruptcies and uninsured rates.
