In order to place a greater emphasis on marketing Maricopa to the rest of the Valley, the city council is putting faith in the Maricopa Economic Development Alliance.
The city already had an agreement with MEDA, but at last week’s meeting, council members decided to invest up to an additional $119,500 into the partnership. According to its Website, MEDA is a nonprofit organization helping Maricopa through the usage of public-private partnerships.
The city wants an additional marketing push not just to promote itself or its businesses, but to change lingering perceptions.
