Design concepts for a City Center, or urban plaza, in downtown Mesa will be presented to the public at a reveal event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Virginia G. Piper Repertory Theatre of the Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St. There will be an opening reception with light refreshments beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a closing reception at 8 p.m. Both receptions will include an open house for residents to interact with the design teams.
Following a design competition format, three design teams have prepared illustrative design concepts for City Center, a distinctive place that will capture and enhance the urbanizing momentum of Mesa’s downtown core. The City Center study area is bounded by Main Street, Center Street, First Street and Centennial Way.
