Days after it was revealed the NFL was inviting potential Super Bowl halftime performers to pay for the privilege of gracing its stage, Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill harshly criticized the City of Glendale on national television because, it seemed, he wasn’t getting his way.
Bidwill said the city has been uncooperative and, as a result, has achieved non-factor status for all Super Bowl-related activities short of the game itself. In naming other Valley cities that have willingly hitched to his Super Bowl wagon and are hosting various events, Bidwill insinuated Glendale was now on the outside looking in.
It seemed the sole purpose of Bidwill’s rant was to embarrass Glendale; however, he only embarrassed himself.
