Issues over a solar structure erected by a local church dating back to February appear to be resolved, but may lead to more guidelines for future development.
Members of Green Valley Council’s Planning and Architectural Review Committee briefly discussed the project last week after hearing that St. Francis of the Valley Church and nearby homeowners have agreed on a landscaping plan to screen views of the new solar parking structure. At the suggestion of committee member Ken Brooks to add vining plants to the project, the committee opted against recommending it.
“This was a long, hard-fought negotiation as it was,” said member Susan Anderson, who met with homeowners to help resolve complaints over incompatibility with surroundings and the project going up without notice.
“It sounds like the homeowners are all in agreement,” chairman Bill O’Malley said. “We’ll tell them that … there were no objections.”
