No decision yet on Florence Magic Ranch and Arizona Farms annexation

A few dozen people filed into hearing room 1 in Pinal County Superior Court today to hear Honorable Jason R Holmberg rule regarding 2 lawsuits (Case #S-1100-CV-201402265 & S-1100-CV-201402266) filed against the Town of Florence’s Magic Ranch & Arizona Farms Annexation, by a group of residents known as HALO (Homeowners Against Legislative Omissions).

The hearing began at 10am with Town of Florence Attorney, James Mannato, urging Judge Holmberg to dismiss both cases based on procedural issues. Mannato ran through a list of dates of when each complaint was filed and amended, pointing out various errors with the filings, including complaints being mailed vs served to the correct parties. Mannato continued stating that the issues presented in both suits are not only identical, but that both cases list issues that if found to be valid, would still not give the court the ability to block the annexation.
