The Yavapai County Board of Supervisors might approve a settlement agreement today, Jan. 22, with a large group of ranchers disputing their property values.
The supervisors announced Wednesday that they plan to vote on a settlement agreement in the Arizona Tax Court case of the Arizona Cattle Growers Association, et al. versus Yavapai County, Yavapai County Assessor Pamela Pearsall, and the Arizona Department of Revenue.
The public meeting starts at 11 a.m. at the supervisors meeting room at 1015 Fair St. in Prescott.
The 80-plus plaintiffs own a combined 430,000 acres of the approximately 750,000 private ag acres in the county, Pearsall estimated.

Landowners should be allowed a voice in the process of assessing their land, and it is encouraging to see the county assessor recognize this and ultimately give them their due.
