Super Bowl rentals sacked by glut of listings, lower demand

Diane Brennan is one of the fortunate ones.

Brennan — a fairly well-known real estate agent who also hosts a radio show — was able to lease out her three-bedroom north Phoenix rental house for Super Bowl week.

“I did get a mad rush of people asking me about my rental as soon as everyone knew it was Seattle and New England,” said Brennan, an agent with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. “I did get it rented out.”

She rented the three-bedroom, 1,500-square-foot home to three sports reporters from the District of Columbia for six nights for $4,320.

Other property owners looking for fast cash from renting homes and condominiums for Super XLIX weren’t so lucky.
