A large distributor of supplies to major airlines is expanding its Phoenix-area operation with a new, 350,000-square-foot distribution center in Goodyear.

It will employ up to 120 people.

Chicago-based Michael Lewis Co. is a privately-owned national distributor to most major airlines in the United States and to some foreign airlines. It handles in-flight and catering products such as paper cups, napkins, plastics and cutlery, and dry, chilled and frozen food for on-board meals.

It also provides airline global logistics and supply chain management services.

Michael Lewis Co.’s 100,000-square-feet center in Phoenix was sold last year. The new center will be located on 30 acres in the Goodyear Gateway South industrial park, adjacent to the Phoenix-Goodyear Airport. It will break ground April 24 with plans to be operational in the first quarter of next year.
