Ducey eyes Commerce Authority changes for 2016 session

The 2015 session is barely over, but Gov. Doug Ducey has already signaled one item that will be on his legislative agenda next year: the Arizona Commerce Authority.

Ducey said he’s planning changes to the ACA for the 2016 legislative session, and that he’d like to see it become the “marketing arm for the state.” Of course, promoting Arizona is already a priority for the state’s public-private economic development organization.

The governor was tight-lipped about whether his plan will expand the ACA’s marketing duties or shift its focus by eliminating or curtailing other parts of its mission.
