West Valley leaders discuss light rail aspirations

The Republic regularly asks leaders to share their thoughts on issues, and light rail has been at the forefront as Glendale opens discussions about which route is best to bring light rail, or other mass transit options, to the city’s downtown.

If the plan moves forward, it would be more than a decade before light rail would be operational in Glendale. Phoenix, Mesa and Tempe already have light rail.

This week’s Soundoff question: Would you like to see light rail extended to your community, and is it being pursued? Or is there an alternative to light rail that is more appealing? If so, are any plans in the works to move it forward?
