[LETTER TO THE EDITOR] Escalade, Tusayan projects alter landscape

LETTERArizona Daily Sun

Developers are attempting to make significant inroads to changing the Arizona landscape. The first: putting a tramway/resort at the confluence of the Grand Canyon and Little Colorado River. They will walk away with money in their pockets, leaving the desecration of a magnificent site that should be continued to be observed with dignity, beauty, and reverence as the natural wonder that it is, not as a theme park or resort.

The second development is the proposal of a large subdivision in the village of Tusayan. These developers are from Italy, and do not concern themselves with the additional drain on natural resources of this village, or even Arizona. They say they will “haul” or “drill for” water. In either event, it is drawing down a water supply that is disappearing. As citizens of the area, please help make sure these do not happen
